About CIQC

Outreach

The CIQC outreach program emphasizes two components.

First, the CIQC, as the nation’s most prominent academic center for quantum computing, has the responsibility to chronicle the scientific and technological transformation it is helping to lead. Toward this aim, we are launching a major effort to preserve, interpret, and communicate the history of quantum computing through a three-way partnership between CIQC, the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA (CHM), and the UC Berkeley Oral History Center (OHC). Each partner brings complementary expertise: the CIQC as active leaders developing the quantum computer, CHM as the world’s leading museum of computing, and OHC as a global leader in scholarly oral history.

Second, the CIQC will build capacity for communicating the field’s present impact and future possibilities through a new science communications training program.  This program provides professional development while generating public-facing content about CIQC research.
